SHOW NOTES

Welcome (01:01)

Hello and welcome to the show; hello to new and returning listeners. I have had a lovely, creative weekend and I want to share it with you.

On to the plan for today’s show:

  • Recent creative exploits
  • Chat with Charles (Insagram, social media, holidays and inspiration)
  • Giveaway update

Recent Creative Exploits (03:50)

Knitting

This week I have been knitting my Radiance Shawl, the pattern is by Helen Stewart and it’s really well written. There is a table so you can tick off rows as you go. The pattern costs US$6.00. I am knitting it in one of my New York souvenir yarns (Midnight in Manhattan, Madelinetosh Lace).

I have finished my Merry Knitalong ball for this month. It’s called Tricolor and it’s a 3 colour Christmas ball. Arne and Carlos know about the knitalong now thanks to Tony from the Bonito Club blog. Their book is 55 Christmas Balls to Knit.

I am still working on Preppy Twisted (pattern by Voolenvine).

I nearly jumped on the Beekeeper’s Quilt bandwagon, but not quite….! I think I am safe for now and intend to focus on my Knitted Patchwork instead.

Here’s the hexipuff I knitted:

Other

I have been making sourdough bread; more on that later. I have also made plum chutney and I will share the recipe on the blog later in the week.

I’ve been doing a little Decopatch too. Here are the cardboard letters I mentioned:

I am still enjoying my ukulele and I picked up my harmonica recently too!

Giveaway update (29:13)

Here’s a link to the giveaway: September Giveaway.

Established in 2005, Bijou Basin Ranch is a small family owned and run yak ranch located just outside the small town of Elbert on the open plains of the Colorado outback about 65 miles southeast of Denver, Colorado. They have a marvellous selection of interesting yarn and fibre – there’s plenty of yak, but also lots of other goodies, including a delicious cotton and cashmere blend called Roslyn.

The winner of this giveaway will receive 3 balls of Roslyn (90% cotton, 10% cashmere), 2 purple, one white, and a lovely shawl pattern which has been designed specifically for this yarn called Roslyn Shawlette, by Marly Bird.

If you are interested in sponsoring a giveaway please email martine@imake.gg.
